The Chairman of Harvard Continental Hotel and philanthropist, Senator Ajagunla Olubiyi Fadeyi (LLM, HBK, D.Sc.) again turned his generosity to the education sector yesterday and took human development a step further, as he donated a sum of One Million, Seven Hundred and Ten Thousand Naira (#1,710,000) to 45 students of Ila Grammar School, lla-Orangun. The money covered the Students’ NECO fees for the 2024 NECO Examinations.
Ajagunnla announced the donation through his Special Adviser on Special Duties, Mr. Omotayo Babalola.
It is on record that about three weeks ago, Sen. Ajagunnla Fadeyi also gifted 1,000 students of various higher institutions in Nigeria, a sum of Fifty Million Naira (N50,000,000); explaining that the gesture is to alleviate the plight of the students and their parents under the current harsh economic situation in the country.
Fadeyi has been a major financial supporter of students in all the ten Local Government Areas of the Osun Central Senatorial District ever before he became the senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Announcing the donations amid thunderous cheers and applause from the benefiting students, their parents and the entire audience at the special event, Fadeyi expressed strong belief in transforming the lives of these younger generation through education; he noted that education is the foundation upon which we build our future.
The Chairman of lla Local Government, Hon. Nasir Adebisi Jayeola who handed the cheque to the Principal of the School, Mrs Oluwaseun Eniayewu, appreciated the Senator for his interest in developing the educational sector in the state.
Meanwhile, the Principal of the school thanked the Senator for the support and promised that the school would not let him down.
In his remarks, the Ejemu of Ila-Orangun, High Chief Paul Ogunrinade described Ajagunla Fadeyi as a philanthropist with an unflinching commitment to the development of education not only in lla-Orangun but Osun State at large.
