In a remarkable display of grassroots empowerment and dedication to his constituency, Sen. Ajagunnla Olubiyi Fadeyi of Osun Central Senatorial District has once again reaffirmed his commitment to fostering economic self-reliance and development.
Earlier yesterday, the Deputy Governor of Osun State, Prince Kola Adewusi, commissioned a two-kilometre township road at Oduola/ Adeduhan Street, Osogbo.
During a highly impactful empowerment programme, the senator distributed an impressive array of tools, equipment, and resources designed to uplift individuals and strengthen communities.
The initiative, which attracted a large crowd of beneficiaries and stakeholders, saw the distribution of:
- Three Massey Ferguson Tractors (imported from Brazil) for modern agricultural practices,
•25 tricycles to boost local transportation, especially within Farm Settlements and Major Markets in Osun Central Senatorial District.
- 15 Transformers to enhance rural electrification,
- 50 Motorcycle
- 2,000 bags of fertilizer to support farming activities,
- 200 industrial sewing machines and 100 Non-electric sewing machines to empower tailors and aspiring entrepreneurs,
- 100 Deep freezers, pesticides, wheelbarrows, and other essential tools aimed at advancing small-scale farming and businesses.
- N100M Cash Palliative to some Party Faithful and Entrepreneurs.
Speaking at the event, Senator Ajagunnla emphasized the importance of sustainable economic growth through empowerment. He noted that these resources were carefully selected to address the unique needs of the constituency, particularly in agriculture, commerce, and small-scale industry.
“Our mission is to equip our people with the tools they need to succeed. Agriculture and entrepreneurship are the backbone of our local economy, and this empowerment programme is a step towards ensuring everyone has access to the resources they need to thrive,” the senator said.
The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude, describing the gesture as life-changing. One recipient of a sewing machine, Mrs Alabi, shared her excitement: “This machine will help me expand my tailoring business and provide for my family. Senator Ajagunnla has given us hope.”
Farmers in the Senatorial District also lauded the senator’s initiative.
Prince Kola Adewusi, The Deputy Governor of Osun State, who represented The executive Governor, Senator (Dr) Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke said, “These Tractors will revolutionize farming not only in the Osun Central Senatorial District but in Osun State at large, making it easier and faster to cultivate large areas.
