In association with the Pioneer Management Team of the newly established Federal University of Health Sciences, FUHES, Ila-Orangun headed by its Vice Chancellor, Prof.Akeem Lasisi; The Chairman of FUHES Advisory Committee, Prof. Tunde Ajiboye led other members of the committee and Ila-Orangun Community to receive the Technical Team from Federal Ministry of Education and National Universities Commission, NUC, Abuja on 5th May, 2022.
The Leader of the Technical Team who is also The Director of University Education at The Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja, Hajia Rakiya IIyasu, expressed satisfaction on all the inspected facilities at the temporary and permanent sites. She said the essence of the visit to Ila-Orangun was to evaluate the level of preparation towards the successful take-off of the University.
IIyasu described the decision of the Federal Government to establish the new universities as a noble intent to reduce medical tourism and lay a solid foundation for building national preparedness and resilience in anticipation of future challenges in the health sector.
In conclusion, Hajia Ilyasu thanked Chief (Dr.) Bisi Akande and Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for the warm reception she and her team received a day earlier and all the supports received from the day of the announcement of the university.
Other members of the team included Mr. Charles Owolabi from Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja and the trio of Mr.Ashafa Ladan, Engr Abraham Chundusu and Mallam Kabir Abdullahi all from National Universities Commission, NUC, Abuja

Present at the inspection exercise were the State’s Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Obawale Adebisi; the Chairmen of Ila Local Government and Ila Central LCDA, Dr. Olumide Babatunde and Prince Ademola Kolawole; the representative of the Honourable Commissioner of Education; Chairman of Ila-Orangun Community Development Council, IOCDC, Chief Oye Oke; the committee’s PRO, Dr. Adeola Faleye; Dr. Rabiu Iyanda, Hon. Gani Jope, Barr. Olayemi, the Media Team of Igbomina Today among others.
The team later retired to the country home of Asiwaju of Ila and former Governor of Osun State, Chief Bisi Akande for reception where Professors Tunde Ajiboye and Oluwole Atoyebi delivered the message of the host community and prayed for their safe trip back to their various destinations.
