Senator Sulaiman Ajadi is a two-term Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the platform of All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP). First in 1999 to 2003 and was re-elected under the platform of ANPP in 2003-2007 to represent Kwara South Senatorial District.
Senator Suleiman M. Ajadi was born on June 3, 1957 at Adio-Babanloma in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara state.
As regards to education, Senator Ajadi is highly learned. He attended St. Martins’ Catholic Primary School, Adio and the Alore Local Government Educational Authority (LGEA) Primary School, Oke Apomu, Ilorin. He gained admission to the Muslim Council College, Babanloma for his secondary school education. He was at this College between 1971 and 1973, but later joined Lafiagi Secondary School, Lafiagi in 1973 where he wrote his West African School Certificate Examination in 1975.
Alhaji Suleiman Ajadi did not rest his oars as he secured admission into the Kwara State College of Technology, Ilorin for his OND between 1975 to 1977 and returned to the same tertiary institution for his HND between 1984 and 1986. Not done yet, educationally, he sought and gained admission to the University of Ilorin and later University of Ibadan.
Before he joined partisan politics, he was an Assistant Lecturer at the Kwara State College of Technology in July 1981 and steadily rose to become Principal Lecturer in 1999. Between 1994 and 1995, Sulaiman Ajadi was appointed Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development in Kwara State. All the previous public life experience were geared towards preparing him for the future and when he finally quit his teaching profession for soap box, he quickly made wave within the ranks and files of party members.
Senator Suleiman Ajadi is naturally created to be a leader, so, the leadership position he has being taking or that might have been given to him by other members or group or association were not done by mistake because he has been naturally created for leadership. His philanthropic gesture is like somebody sowing seeds on every fertile land he comes about and doubtly expected any bountiful harvest but for Suleiman Ajadi, the philanthropic seed he has been sowing yielded bountiful harvest for him in 2003 general elections, when he campaigned for the Senatorial seat of Kwara South Senatorial seat. The political party under which he contested then ANPP was not so popular when compared with the PDP’s arsenal for vote winning and with the illuminating grand Pa of politics in Kwara State, particularly whose philanthropic gesture can dwarf that of Alhaji Suleiman Ajadi. But in politics especially in Nigeria, the electorate are not easily predictable. At the last count, Ajadi resoundly defeated other political opponents in the race. His own kind and style of philanthropicism paid off. Those he has helped to become somebody to be reckoned with in life during his teaching career days and during his stint in government as a Commissioner rallied round to pay back their benefactor in kind on the election day.
Senator Ajadi performed the same feat in 2003 election when he was re-elected Senator. Senator Suleiman Ajadi is a responsible husband and good father to his children. He
was the Special Adviser to the President
Goodluck Jonathan on National Assembly Matters.
