Prof. Olusola Adebisi Adeyeye hails from Ora-Igbomina. A professor of Biology and former member of National Assembly who represented Ila/Ifedayo/Boluwaduro Federal Constituency (2003-2007) under the platform of Alliance for Democracy (AD), he is a grassroots politician. Before he was elected as a house of representative member he was appointed as the Chairman Caretaker Committee in Ifedayo Local Government Area; Osun State (2002-2003) and he served on various advisory committees on the rapid modernization of Osun State.

An activist of great note, Prof. Adeyeye was the head of editorial department, Radio Kudirat of Nigeria (1997-1998), Secretary General, United Democratic Front of Nigeria (1997-2000), President, Nigeria Freedom Foundation (1995-2000), Chairman Political Action Committee, Association of Nigerians Abroad (1996-1998), convener and co-founder Association of Nigeria in Western Pennsylvania, (1994), Campus Co-ordinator, Coalition Against Apartheid, University of Georgia, USA (1984-1985) and President, Nigeria Students Association University of Georgia (1984). Prof. Olusola Adeyeye was a co-founder of NADECO (National Democratic Coalition) that put the military out of power in 1999.

He was formerly a lecturer in the Department of Biology, Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, USA, who believed that: “Government in Nigeria is a cesspool of corruption, an oasis of immorality and an open sewage of political prostitution and bastard which has heralded the endemic poverty ravaging the land. His incessant quarrel with the ruling class stems from the fact that, “while government in other climes are passionately committed to the social and economic emancipation of their constituents, Nigeria’s predatory ruling elite like the family of flies and maggots that often finds a five-star hotel in filth and squalor are always busy having jubilatory rendezvous in the midst of a wanton decay they have foisted on the people”.

The former Federal House of Representatives member during his tenure in the National Assembly (1999-2003) constantly attacked those politicians that were feeding fat on the system especially the National Assembly members. He once said in an interview in a Magazine that: “What we have in Nigeria is what I have described many times as a corruptocracy, a government of the corrupt by the corrupt and for the corrupt. And in that kind of government, there are no rules because anything goes. A situation where a political office holder in an extremely poor country such as Nigeria, earns more than a neuro-surgeon working in the USA tells the story of how sad our reward system is. When I was in the National Assembly, twice I made a statement that was carried by some newspaper to the effect that if Nigerians know how much we in the National Assembly were making, they would come and stone all of us”. He exposed the secret meeting convened in 2008 by those behind the infamous third-term agenda which was held at the NICON Hilton Hotel; Abuja where it was perfected to give N70 million each to the Federal Lawmakers that supported the agenda.
