As Christians across Nigeria and the world commemorate the Easter season, the Senator representing Osun Central Senatorial District, Olubiyi Oluwole Fadeyi, has called on Nigerians to embrace the virtues of peace, tolerance, and unity in diversity.
In his Easter message, Senator Fadeyi,—The Ajagunnla Oodua Ti Ile Yoruba and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment—urged citizens to reflect deeply on the significance of the season, which symbolises sacrifice, love, and the triumph of life over death.

The lawmaker emphasized that the message of Easter remains particularly relevant in the current phase of Nigeria’s national journey, noting that the spirit of togetherness and mutual respect is essential for sustainable peace and development.
According to him, “Easter reminds us of the power of resurrection—the assurance that no matter the challenges we face as individuals or as a nation, restoration is possible. It is a season that calls for renewed faith, hope, and collective responsibility.”
Senator Fadeyi further stressed that Nigeria’s diversity should be seen as a strength rather than a source of division, urging citizens across ethnic, religious, and political lines to work together in harmony for the progress of the nation.
He expressed optimism that in this era of Renewed Hope in Nigeria, the power of Christ’s resurrection would bring restoration to all that has been lost—be it peace, economic stability, or national cohesion.
The senator also encouraged leaders at all levels to govern with compassion, fairness, and a deep sense of accountability to the people, noting that true leadership is measured by its impact on the lives of the masses.
“As we celebrate this season, let us recommit ourselves to building a nation where justice, equity, and unity prevail. Together, we can overcome our challenges and usher in a brighter future for generations to come,” he added.
Senator Fadeyi concluded by wishing Nigerians a peaceful and joyous Easter celebration, urging all to remain steadfast in hope and united in purpose.
