Omotayo Olagunju Babalola is a Nigerian writer, biographer, publisher, community development advocate, and an apostle of Jesus Christ. He is widely known for his commitment to documenting history, promoting education, and advancing the cultural heritage of the Igbomina people of Southwestern Nigeria.
Omotayo, a graduate of the University of Lagos, Nigeria, and the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomoso, is the publisher of Igbomina Today Magazine, a platform dedicated to celebrating the history, achievements, and development of Igbomina communities at home and in the diaspora.
Through his writings and publications, he has consistently highlighted the contributions of distinguished sons and daughters of the region while encouraging unity and progress within the community.
A passionate historian and public commentator, Omotayo is also involved in projects aimed at preserving the educational and social history of Igbomina land, including the special publication Education in Igbomina Land: History, Impact, and Legacy, which documents the growth and impact of education across the region.
Omotayo has authored and co-authored several books, reflecting his passion for biography, leadership development, and community history. His works include Ila-Orangun Facts and Figures; Beyond Bounds: The Testimonies of Deacon G. O. Olaosegba; Fulfilling Destiny: A Biography of HRM Oba Wahab Oyedotun; Success Stories: Rising from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be; More Than Rubies: The Testimonies of an Apostolic Mother – Bishop Temitayo Felix Owolabi; 100 Next Generation Leaders; and Uncommon Life / Uncommon Grace: The Biography of Alayeluwa HRM Oba Surv. Through these publications, he has helped to document the lives, testimonies, and achievements of notable individuals while inspiring younger generations.
Known for his calm disposition and integrity, Omotayo is also regarded as a peacemaker who believes strongly in dialogue rather than conflict or confrontation. He is widely respected for having listening ears and a large heart, qualities that make him approachable and trusted by many. His reputation for honesty and reliability in financial matters has further strengthened the confidence people place in him in both personal and community engagements.
Beyond publishing, he remains deeply committed to community development, youth empowerment, and the promotion of understanding and cooperation in public life.
His work reflects a lifelong dedication to preserving heritage, inspiring future generations, and contributing to the intellectual and social advancement of his community.
