In a giant stride towards improving power supply in his senatorial district, Senator Ajagunnla Olubiyi Fadeyi has successfully facilitated the installation of a 63MVA Mobile Sub-Station at Agbamu Road, Ila-Orangun.
This development follows a series of meetings in the last six months with the Honourable Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, during which the Minister directed ministry agencies, the TCN, FGN Power, and IBEDC, to inspect the proposed site for the project. The team came twice to identify the point to the site of this infrastructure. They were received by the High Chief Paul Ogunrinade, The Ejemu of Ila-Orangun, and other notable chiefs with the instruction of kabiyesi, the Orangun of Ila.
As part of his commitment to fulfilling the ministry’s requirements, which was mandatory before this substation could be installed, is the provision of 3000 pre-paid meters. Senator Ajagunnla agreed to procure 3,000 pre-paid meters through budget allocation, ensuring seamless electricity distribution to beneficiaries.
Once completed, the mobile Sub-Station will serve as a major boost to power supply, benefiting seven local government areas within the Senatorial District.
This initiative underscores Senator Ajagunnla’s dedication to addressing the power challenges in Ila-Orangun and his neighbouring towns. This will create 1000 direct jobs during construction and installation, will foster development through reliable electricity, improve medical services, the Federal Teaching Hospital, Federal and local Universities, The College of Education, Ajagunnla Radio Station, small and medium scale enterprises, and boost our local production.
In a gesture of appreciation, Senator Ajagunnla expressed heartfelt gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, with the presidential power initiative, The Honourable Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu, The Ajiboye family compound that generously donated the land for the mobile Sub-Station. He also extended his thanks to the kabiyesi Alayeluwa Oba Wahab Oyedotun The Orangun of Ila and Chief Paul Ogunrinade, the Ejemu of Ila-Orangun, Alhaji Jimoh Akande and prominent leaders in the town, for their support and cooperation in bringing this transformative project to fruition.
